Nerdicus PAX EAST 2014 Retrospective

Well all, as you may have noticed I missed the Friday and Monday post, but that's because I was attending an event that every gamer needs to go to at least once in their lifetime. I am of course talking about PAX EAST 2014. Now, I've been to quite a few PAX in my time, and they seem to be getting better each year. The fact that I come home exhausted with a true lack of sleep says something.

I'm pretty much falling asleep at work now...ah well. Worth it.

Nerdicus NES Review #12 - Advanced D&D : Pool of Radiance

Title : Advanced D&D : Pool of Radiance

Publisher : Strategic Simulations

Release Date : 1992

Estimated Value (as of today's date) : $10 - $20

Well, this is it folks. The last of the Advanced D&D games on the NES. Can this game finally be the hidden gem I was looking for? Or is DragonStrike going to be the one glimmer of hope that the D&D series has on the NES?

Nerdicus NES Review #10 : Advanced D&D : Hillsfar

Title : Advanced D&D : Hillsfar

Publisher : FCI

Release Date : 1993

Estimated Value (as of today's date) : $25-$50

LET'S SUCK VIDEO : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNvm5XFQlng

It's beginning to look like there is no saving the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons games for the NES. Just when I thought it couldn't get much worse with Heroes of the Lance, in comes Hillsfar. At least with Heroes of the Lance, I had some sense of what I was meant to do. With Hillsfar, you're thrown into a giant city and just left to your own devices. Get ready for some epic D&D adventuring!

Sarcasm folks. Sarcasm.

Nerdicus NES Review #9 : Advanced D&D : Heroes of the Lance

Title : Advanced D&D : Heroes of the Lance

Release Date : 1991

Publisher : FCI

Estimated Value (as of today's date) : $3-$5

LET'S SUCK VIDEO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CLHeU3k0u0

Did you ever have one of those D&D adventures, where the dungeon master has absolutely no idea what he's doing? The background story has little to no appeal, the monsters are worthless and uninspired, and the sense of adventure is non existent. Well, welcome to Heroes of the Lance.

Nerdicus NES Review #8 - Advanced D&D : DragonStrike

Title : Advanced D&D : DragonStrike

Release Date : 1990

Publisher : Strategic Simulations Inc

Estimated Value (as of today's date) : $10-25

Beware - incoming biased review here. I'm a huge D&D buff. When I think of D&D, I am transported back to my child hood where I went on nail-biting adventures into the wee hours of the night.  I still have some of my original character sheets that I designed when I first played D&D. Unfortunately, times have changed, and I just haven't had the chance to get back into the swing of D&D.
